Paint With the Sounds of Discount.....

So very close to where i attend uni is a quaint warehouse called 'Molly's Den' (something i often forget so is renamed Betties Treasure Trove or Sally's Shed....) an inside is a cove of vintage, unwanted, handmade and just old items.

Amongst most of the unwanted 90's toys, i found vinyl records.

Now, for lovers of the classic records and hold then above all else.... look away now.

For arty people for the love of something easy and fun, continue. I have found the up most fun passing the time creating simple painting on these vinyl disks.

These are my most resent pieces with limited colour choices. But i made do.

In a previous piece you can see my steps:

In the first piece you can see my light pencil sketches to get the general outline, then with the base colours, filling the block areas paying close attention to where the dark areas will be, using the black of the vinyl.
Then there is the finished piece, with little detail and blending out. Only colours close to white seem to be see able. I did another piece which relied of darker colours in it.

Though i am happy with it, it's difficult to see some of the darker areas. something to keep in mind for my later paintings.

SUMMER BEEN AND GONE

It's been a while but that's what happens when you get the whole of Summer off to chill and do nothing.

Nevertheless, I did create a few bits an' bobs so while i have a sec (while i'm waiting for my washing) I shall upate:

Some 'off-the-bat' calligraphy penmanship.
In order:
1 - Buffy The Vampire Slayer
2 - Percy Jackson; The Lightening Thief
3 - Doctor Who
4 - BBC Sherlock
